Vista is not everyone's cup of tea. It has got many restrictions. Even some softwares do not support vista. I think it will take more time for Vista to replace XP.

I'm having similar issues - my one-month old laptop has great specs (2Gb RAM, 1.8Ghz Centrino Duo) and that would mean a great machine in usual circumstances. But I was afraid of Vista - turns out my fears were right. I disabled all the shiny add-on features of vista and am running it on the basics, and it STILL manages to eat up 700Mb of my RAM - beats me why. My network card keeps mucking up for no reason other than to give me a headache, and the best of the lot is - the blue screen of death. I hadn't seen it in YEARS - XP never once gave it to me after SP2. But now I'm seeing it rather regularly.. and it's scary. Is this the windows upgrade we've all been waiting for? It's things like these which make me wish I went with my gut feeling and switched to a mac - no, I am not a fanboy - I'm just a normal user who likes it when his PC actually works. And here's the crux of the problem - I don't know if my guarantee allows me to downgrade to XP, or whether that will invalidate it (I don't see a reason why it should, but you never really know, do you?) I'll have to check on that one - if it's OK to downgrade, it's back to XP for me.
