That image displays a huge shift in the approach peripherals vs. integrated tools/devices. Is there some way to manage the cabling on the right so that it has the visual aesthetic of the left?

The iMac is great! However, it’s not quite as simple as shown. This is a fair side-by-side comparison, but for both of these pictures add the following cables for a more typical setup:
–ethernet
–external hard disk
–printer
–probably ipod dock
–maybe external speakers
So the rats nest of cables is still pretty bad under the desk. There’s a power cord for the printer, the router, probably a desk lamp. It’s kinda ugly under there–but significantly better with the iMac.
